In addition to photographing, concurrent writing has grown to become a secondary skillset. The two processes sharpen one another, bringing greater pause before pushing a shutter button to ask deeper questions of a story. The storyline becomes cohesive, visual stories richer. When working with an assigned writer, that background aids in collaboration, having the added understanding of what details he or she may wish to seek out in a story.
Having written and photographed for a number of publications, you can access the last two years of my monthly food column, Foodographer, in Lancaster County Magazine.
